▲假如仅从语法角度上说，It’s a long time since…和it was a long time before…都是可能的，但它们的意思完全不同：

It was a long time before… 在……之前时间过了非常长一段时间
比较：

直译：自从他来到这里已有非常长一段时间了。
意译：他来这里很久了。
2. It was a long time before he came here.
直译：在他到这里来之前时间过了非常长一段时间。
意译：过了很长时间（过了非常长一段时间）他才来到这里。
